Built by people who've done the work.
Every decision is shaped by having actually run intake, distribution, and reporting—not by guessing what a pantry needs from the outside.
About Pantry Nexus
We lived double-entry paper intake and software that only ran on one back-office machine. Pantry Nexus is the shared workspace we needed: one live line on every device, from intake to checkout, with the numbers ready for the people who answer for the program.
Where it started
The work behind the work
01 / The story
The problem was never a lack of effort. It was the friction wrapped around the effort.
Our team has spent years on the floor of a food shelf—not just observing one from the outside. Intake, distribution, queue movement, checkout, inventory counts, and reporting: the full day-to-day of it.
We know what it's like to hand someone a paper application, then re-type that same information into a computer later. We know what it's like to be tied to a single back-office machine instead of working from whatever device happens to be free on the floor.
Every one of those small frictions adds up to less time serving people—and a harder job reporting the impact of the work at the end of it. Pantry Nexus keeps intake, the queue, the visit, and the report connected as the shift runs.
The best operational tool is the one that gets out of the way when the room gets busy.
02 / Why we built this
We didn't set out to build a product for other organizations. We set out to fix our own pantry's daily friction: get intake off paper, get the software off one locked-down machine, and get our team's time back for the work that actually matters.
Once it worked for us, it became clear we weren't the only pantry losing hours to outdated tools. So we opened it up.
Get intake off paper.
Work from the device at hand.
Give the team its time back.
03 / What guides us
These principles keep Pantry Nexus close to the real work and keep the product from becoming another source of overhead.
Every decision is shaped by having actually run intake, distribution, and reporting—not by guessing what a pantry needs from the outside.
We measure the software by how much friction it removes from a shift, not by how long the feature list looks.
Staffing, hours, and workflow vary from one pantry to the next. The software should adapt to how you already work.
04 / Where we're headed
We're still close to the floor, and we intend to stay that way. Pantry Nexus grows by listening to the pantries using it—the same way it started: paying attention to what actually slows a shift down, and fixing it.
If your team is still working from paper intake forms or software that only runs on one machine in the back office, we built this for exactly that.
